Cruise trip-June 2022

If you have a $50 on board credit in your account, you will owe LSFD for that $50 that was spent on excursions. That way it's fair for everyone on the trip. Those credits were randomly assigned.

Shirts will be handed out at the Covid testing on Thursday morning 6/23 from 9-12.
You will need one trip shirt and your LSFD shirt on the trip.
You will also need to bring at least one mask in case it's needed on the trip. Covid protocols are updated all the time, so we can't tell you now what exactly those will be. We will keep you updated as we know.
We will do the required Covid testing on Thursday, June 23rd from 9AM-NOON at the high school. You will need to bring $5 for your test. If you can not be there at that time it is your responsiblity to get it done by Friday and get those results uploaded to Verifly and to Margo ASAP! Again, shirts will be handed out here too.
June 25th- load buses at SVHS at 8AM, be there at 7:30AM.
Pack food or bring some cash for stops along the way. You will need to pay for your meals on the way down and the way back, so bring money for that! We will have a couple of coolers available to put sandwiches in. Also bring money for tipping and extra spending in port if you wish. We will have a couple of coolers on the bus. You can bring things like blankets and pillows to keep you comfortable on the drive that you can leave on the bus.
Staying at Holiday Inn Express and Suites- Pearland on June 25th. 1702 North Main Street , Pearland, Texas 77581 The hotel does have a pool, so we'll just hang out here for the evening. You might bring a deck of cards or dice or other easy to pack games for the outdoors.

June 26th- you will need to wake up and eat a really good breakfast at the hotel. Pack a backpack that has your swimsuit in it and anything you MUST have on your person, possibly even an extra outfit. They will take our bags at check-in and it's possible that we won't be able to get into rooms until later or your bags won't get on until later. (Bring a couple of dollars to tip bag stewards). We will leave the hotel by 9:30AM. Our check in appointment is at 10:30 at the pier. You have been split up according to who you are rooming with and/or if you are on one of the adults credit cards. You'll find that out in the morning. We will staple your baggage claim tickets to your bags on Saturday night at the hotel.
Sunday morning- please wear your blue or yellow LSFD shirt. We will save the white trip shirts for the day that has the white party on board. You don't necessarily have to wear the shirt to the white party, we'll just plan on all wearing them that day and hope to get a performance done then on the ship.
You will have the day to get to know the cruise ship, take the time to get to know the ship and you won't regret it. It's easy to get turned around.

We will disembark on July 2nd and drive straight home, plan on geting up very early around 6AM and eat breakfast and be ready to go. SHOWER and have clean clothes on for the long ride h ome. The time of arrival back home is dependent on how long it takes us to get off of the ship. Again, make sure you have money for food on the way home.
Download the Carnival Hub app. for $5 you can chat with other cruisers on the ship. Margo will do your online check in for you and print baggage tickets. Keep in mind that you want to ideally stay to one suitcase, you can bring two, but those cabins are small and YOU are responsible to carry your own bags. We will set up a suggested packing list, if they are bolded items, you must have them with you. You do NOT need 15 outfits for a 7 day trip folks. There is predicted rain, so you might bring gear for that.
Bring a kitchen size trash bags to put your dirty clothes in. The rooms are small, you will not want to have stuff all over the room. Make sure you are hanging up your swimsuits overnight so they don't smell!

See the day to day itinerary that will most likely be happening and start making plans with your friends. We will have a couple of things that we will do together! This was from earlier in May, but hopefully will be what happens on ours too. Plan on an 80's night and a white out night for parties!

You may NEVER be alone on the cruise ship, unless you are sleeping in your room or a quick trip to a restroom. There are BAD people on this trip, you are no longer in Lindsborg. Do NOT go to anyone's rooms that aren't in our group and stay in at least pairs, ideally even larger than that. Watch your drinks and/or have a friend keep an eye on your drink if you would happen to get up and leave it unattended. Be Safe, stay away from areas that are also unsafe to be climbing on, etc... if you are caught doing anything that an adult would consider dangerous, you will be babysat for the rest of the cruise. You don't want that, we don't want that. Use your common sense, realize that people do not always have the best intentions and be smart about the situations that you put yourself in. Leave NO ONE BEHIND. If there are issues between anyone or roommates, please let me know sooner rather than later. If someone has or is about to put themself in a bad or unsafe position, it does not make you a bad friend to let an adult know. If does make you a bad friend if you let them go ahead with it. I am not trying to be a kill joy, but there truly are bad people in this world, let's use common sense, be safe, and let's have a great time!
Contacting home: unless you bought the internet package, your coverage will definitely be spotty as to when you can get wifi. Each port day you should at least be able to find wifi, you might download an app called whatsapp and use that to contact home. Folks, coverage really is spotty so even if they bought the wifi package sometimes the connection is still really bad depending on weather and how many people are on it. It does look like a lot of rain, so they might not be ignoring you!
